About HRMH
Since we opened our doors in 1981, Houston’s Ronald McDonald House has offered a home away from home providing care, compassion and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions.
Each year, thousands of children are treated in Houston for serious illnesses, many of whom have traveled great distances. Understandably, the concern and anxiety their families experience during such times are heightened by the stress of lengthy hospital stays, months of outpatient treatment, and the expense of being away from home for extended periods.
Houston's Ronald McDonald House answers their special needs by offering a caring, home-like environment where they have the privacy they need while finding support and sharing their experiences and concerns with others who are also undergoing the trauma of childhood illness. We offer three such Houses or facilities with ancillary services in the Texas Medical Center of Houston.

· Holcombe House (50 bedrooms)
· Texas Children's Hospital (20 bedrooms)
· Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital (14 bedrooms)
In addition to these facilities Houston's RMH operates a Cookie Corner Program inside the Children's Cancer Hospital at M.D. Anderson. Once a week, an RMH Cookie Corner volunteer bakes chocolate chip cookies in the lounge kitchenette on the 9th floor of the Children's Cancer Hospital. The aroma of freshly baked cookies provides a measure of comfort and familiarity to families, while also bringing together families experiencing similar challenges for communal support and solace. This simple program is a resource for sharing information regarding other RMH services.
