About RMH Houston
Since we opened our doors in 1981, Ronald McDonald House Houston has offered a home away from home providing care, compassion and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions.
Each year, thousands of children are treated in Houston for serious illnesses, many of whom have traveled great distances. Understandably, the concern and anxiety their families experience during such times are heightened by the stress of lengthy hospital stays, months of outpatient treatment, and the expense of being away from home for extended periods.
Ronald McDonald House Houston answers their special needs by offering a caring, home-like environment where they have the privacy they need while finding support and sharing their experiences and concerns with others who are also undergoing the trauma of childhood illness. We offer three such Houses or facilities with ancillary services in the Texas Medical Center of Houston.

In addition to these facilities RMH Houston operates 5 Family Rooms: 4 inside Texas Children’s Hospital, and our newest Family Room inside MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital. These Family Rooms offer a comfortable place to rest while a child receives medical care.
